A Christmas Carol @ Fords Theatre – A must see!
Wendy and I have made it a tradition to see this play every year on the day after Thanksgiving. It really kicks off the holiday season in the most heartwarming way. If you’re looking for a great night out, give this some thought. We did not rush out of the theatre when the play was over. We sat back to not just take in the emotive experience of the play itself, but the equally emotive experience of sitting in this historic place. We then went to the elevator to go down to the garage. As luck would have it, we ended up riding the elevator with all the main characters in the play, among them, Ebenezer Scrooge and Bob Cratchit. They were out of makeup and costume, but Wendy recognized them all immediately and told them we loved the play. I told them it was an experience that was both moving and uplifting. Bob Cratchit said, “First time?” I said, “No, third.” He laughed, but appreciated that after seeing it several times, the effect has never lessened.
